Eaton is a power management company that provides energy efficient solutions that help our customers effectively manage electrical, hydraulic and mechanical power more efficiently, safely and sustainably. Eaton has approximately 97,000 employees and sells products to customers in more than 175 countries.
Challenge:
Eaton was going through an SAP upgrade and needed to implement a new solution to manage the creation of price agreements. At the same time, Eaton saw an opportunity to improve their commercial process and provide an integrated solution to manage not only the creation of the price agreements, but also the approval process for those price agreements. Historically approvals were managed by email that caused issues with missed steps in their approval process.
Solution:
The initial implementation focused on implementing the new price agreement creation process in CPQ Cloud. CPQ Cloud also became the central point for managing the approvals that were required for any of the 7000 price agreements that this division of Eaton has to manage on an annual basis.
Once the agreements were created they were then integrated to 2 systems where the agreements were managed. One was for Distributor Agreements and the other was for Customer Agreements.
Results:
- Decreased time required to create price agreements
- Faster turnaround on price agreement approvals
- An improved governance structure was put in place that improved the overall price agreement process
